Special opening for a lovely birthday girl, without much notice, required relying on some old favorites and yet I felt the need to try something totally new as well (the Moroccan tortilla, which became the hit item on the menu).

Aperitif: Proseco with creme de cassis; Moroccan tortilla (nouvelle cuisine, kind of like Spanish omelette), pita chips and raita with Middle Eastern spices.

Starter: Thai broth with musky shitake mushrooms and baby spinach leaves, and seared salmon.

Main: lamb mrouzia, Moroccan risotto and aspragus tips.

Dessert: sticky toffee pudding smothered with toffee sauce and a big dollop of whipped cream.
