Cherry blossoms on my huge tree were very courteous and waited until just the day before our dinner celebration in their honor to come out into full bloom! It was divine and provided a perfect complement to our menu:

aperitif:
A beautiful dry sherry, La Copital Amontillado
Curried corn sushi roll
Spicy tofu and artichoke heart hand roll sushi

1st starter:
Cold carrot and saffron soup served with a tiny dollop of pureed bean curd and chives

2nd starter:
Tian of smoked trout with truffle and olives
Ginger rice with nori

Main:
Linguini with ragout of oriental mushrooms
Sesame string beans
Spicy aubergine
Teriaki beef kebab

Pudding:
Pears poached in riesling with vanilla, served with vanilla ice cream
